The story behind
TOY EIGHT.
Have you ever encountered the following statements?
"My child has been in school for a long time, but they still write with a mirror image. If these teachers can't help her, I will withdraw from your school."
"Who are you to say that my child has speech problems? You are not a specialist."
I'm Shun Matsuzaka, founder of TOY EIGHT, a Japanese education company. As someone who suffered from dyslexia, I didn't want my child to struggle with any learning difficulty, if she had one. When I came to Malaysia with my family from Japan 5 years ago, I asked the preschool teachers many questions to check if my child had any learning difficulty. But, due to the lack of developmental specialists and experts in the preschools, they didn't have the professional skills and qualifications to assess my child. I thought: who should I go to if the preschools can't help my child?
I saw the need to create a service to support parents who are concerned about their children's development, like I was before. So, I teamed up with experienced specialists to develop tools that would help children in their development through preschools. With the goal of providing parents and educators strong support and improving the quality of preschools, TOY EIGHT was born.
